A Note on Mail Vandalism from One of Our Neighbors

Hi PHNA folks,

On 2 January, 2015 I called the Postal Inspector office at 1. 877.876.2455 regarding vandalism in our neighborhood.  We do not have evidence of any mail theft personally, but did find strewn mail, near Poe and Irving, showing evidence of tampering with mail from various  residences in Poet’s Corner, and in the Montevideo area west of Alvernon.  We  returned the few pieces we found to the relevant addresses, speaking to one individual, leaving a written note otherwise.

The case number for my call is CA121057.627.  Neighborhood folks may refer to this case number when calling the Postal Inspector. Or not.  See email from Postal Inspector office below:

This office waits until numerous calls come in and they compile and compare info to make decisions.   That’s an issue in itself, yet the more documenting of awareness of vandalism or tampering  increases likely of a response.

 Just FYI.
 Jesse Zoernig, of Poet’s Corner.
