Hazardous Waste Collections (+Grease) – Citywide
January 4, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Household Hazardous Waste, or HHW, are products labeled toxic, danger, poison, flammable, etc. These are potentially harmful to people, pets and the environment. They should never be poured down the drain. So what should you do?
If you are like many residents, you don’t want to throw these materials away but aren’t sure what to do with them. They usually sit stored in a garage or shed. The Tucson HHW Program is available to all residents. Fees are charged based on residency.
Program is free to residents of the City of Tucson. Residents from Marana, Oro Valley, Sahuarita and unincorporated Pima County will be charged a $10 fee.
Eastside Service Center, 7575 E. Speedway Blvd. (turn north on Prudence to enter the drop-off line)

Keep Cooking Oil and Grease Out of Drains and Sewers
Extra cooking for the upcoming holidays means that it’s time to help protect your sewer pipes and the system in general. The Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department (RWRD) reminds you that pouring cooking oil and grease down pipes can clog and damage sewer lines. Please take these items to Pima County’s Agua Nueva Water Reclamation Facility at 2947 W Calle Agua Nueva, Monday through Friday, 7 am-3 pm.
The oils and grease can be recycled into biodiesel, a cleaner-burning fuel. You can also save all your used cooking oil and grease for the 15th annual Grease Collection and Recycling Event on Saturday, January 4, 2020. Six locations will be open, listed here: Pima County Protect Our Pipes: http://bit.ly/2mNZvh9
