Dear Ward 6 Neighbors,
Council Member Kozachik and the Fund for Civility, Respect and Understanding would like to invite you to join us at the Ward 6 Council Office for a Mental Health Safe Space training. This 90-minute program aims to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health issues and provide you with information and practical tools that can help you respond compassionately and effectively to someone who is experiencing a mental health crisis.
The training focuses on three central themes:
Know the facts: What’s the truth about mental illness? How many people are affected? What are the causes?
Know the signs: What are the signs? Are they the same for everyone?
Provide help: Who do I call if there’s a crisis? Who do I call in crisis and non-crisis situations? What practical skills can help me support people in need?
This training will take place on Monday, August 4th at 5:30pm at the Ward 6 Council Office (3202 E 1st Street). Hor d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP to Ward 6 staff by phone (520-791-4601) or by email (Ward6@tucsonaz.gov) no later than Friday, July 25th.
Hope to see you there!
Steve Kozachik and the Ward 6 Staff
